Have you achieved your desired weight?

Well if you have that is great, now its important to manage it.
Weight loss can be difficult but its not about dieting to lose
weight its about choosing a different lifestyle, Its about
choosing to have a Healthier And A More Productive Life.
Controlling your weight is possible if you exercise regularly,
and watching what you eat and how much you eat. The next time
you out driving through the drive through at McDonald¢s rather
than order their Value Meal and getting more calories and fat
than you need order a Happy Meal, I have plenty of friends that
do this and after all the only person that has to know is you.
There are so many fast food restaurants that give you way more
than you need, and that is because we are a people that want
more for less. We get this big meal in front of us and rather
than waste it we eat it all. When I 1st started to watch my diet
and learning how to loose weight. I become more aware of the
people when I went out to eat, and I suggest you do the same.
Not to judge the person themselves but their eating habits. Fast
food restaurants generally have a high number of over weight
people.
So how can you keep from gaining weight?
 Try these tips
  • Eat few calories by cutting down on your portions, or decreasing the total amount of fat you eat to 30% or less of your total daily calories
  • Never skip any meals
  • Keep low calorie, low-fat snacks on hand, some suggestions would be pretzels, raw vegetables with a low calorie dip or fruit.
  • Just remember there is no difference between calories in low-fat foods than those found in fatty foods. Choose foods high in fiber such as whole-grain breads, cereals, pasta, rice, fruits and vegetables.
  • Drink plenty of water
  • Get plenty of sleep at least 8 hours - this is difficult in today¢s busy world but very important to your health
  • Perform some type of physical activity for at least 1 hour a day - this doesn't have to be all at one time, for example take a walk in the morning, and another walk in the evening
  • No matter your size always keep a positive attitude and never allow anyone to make you feel bad about yourself. People can say what they want, but it will only bother you if you already feel the same way about yourself. If you have a bad self image I would suggest you go to your library and check out some books or book cd's by Jack Canfield. I just got through listening to another one of his cd's and he makes sense.
  • Love yourself and who you are.

Couch Potatoes Working Out

Couch Potatoes, Couch Potatoes, Couch Potatoes! We all know what Couch Potatoes means as I start writing this wondering where this came from well it was first coined in 1976 by a friend of American underground comics artist Robert Armstrong and in the early-1980s, he registered the term as a trademark with the US government.
If you don’t know what it means well a couch potato refers to a person who spends most of his or her free time sitting or lying on a couch. When I visualize a couch potato I see someone that is lazy and is over weight.
Since more people are plopped down lying around on the couch in front of the TV. I knew it would be a good idea to write about weight loss and fitness for couch potatoes.
People who love TV can loose weight and stay fit even while watching shows like The Young & The Restless, The Bold & The Beautiful, The Guiding Light, Nascar, Heroes, what ever show you may watch, without it cutting into precious television time. Simply setup up your TV room for fitness and exercise, after all fitness clubs have TV’s setup so you can stay caught up with what's going on. You don’t have to lie around to watch TV, I have one of Tony Little's Gazelle beside my TV and it really helps to improve my work, because I don’t get bored or tired as easily and I am able to get mo body moving and blood circulating.
The main thing that is needed is that you work out hard enough to feel it, if you do a lot of walking at your job then walking for exercise probably won’t help you loose weight. If you sit at a desk all day then walking will help you lose weight because your body is not used to it. Remember to consult your doctor to insure you are healthy enough to exercise.
Studies have shown that American men average 29 hours a week of TV watching, while women rack up about 34 hours. That gives us a lot of time to fit in some extra activity. After all that is multitasking at its best.
Another thing you need to consider getting a TiVo or a DVR, limit the time you have to sit in front of the television skip through those commercials that are feeding your head with things that you just have to buy, and junk food that is killing you.

Healthy Weight Loss Habits

Who you are is determined by you, 20% is hereditary and 80% is determined by you. So isn’t it time that you change your unhealthy habits to healthy ones? This is not easy but it can be done, it will take discipline and willpower from you. It usually takes a couple of weeks but after that it will become easier and the changes you make will become more of a habit.

So what health habits do you need to work on?

  • Are you one of those people that work a 2nd or 3rd shift job, and after you get home you get home you sit down to watch a little TV to relax, eat supper, and then go to bed? I know it is hard but for a better and healthier you, it is recommended that you not eat 2 to 3 hours before you go to bed.
  • Do you work out at least 3 times a week? This works out best if you have a partner, because it’s to easy when you work out alone to put it off. Ask a friend to walk with you during a break or at lunchtime.
  • Are you using too much sugar, bread or fast food? Drinking 1 can of soda a day can cause significant weight gain in a years time, and the next time you are at fast food place look around at the people eating there you will be amazed as to how many are over weight. It’s tough to reduce intake and while I’ll do watch my weight and what I eat, I do eat at fast food restaurants, but a lot of times I will go through the drive threw and order a Happy Meal. Its important to watch what you eat as well as how much you are eating, I know I could eat a regular Value Meal, but a Happy Meal will satisfy my needs. So if sugar, or coffee, or soda is your nemesis cut back as much as you can and if possible cut it out entirely. You will be amazed at how powerful, and healthy, you will feel once you do.
  • Don’t Beat yourself up – this is a big one. Do you look at yourself and think negative thoughts about yourself? You have got to change that habit, its funny how women especially can look at themselves and see flaws and men can look at them and see them as beautiful women. You have got to change your out look on life and your opinion of yourself. Say no to negative thoughts, and anyone that is negative to you, this will change how you see yourself, how you feel about yourself, and ultimately how you treat yourself.
